Funny Monkey!
He was almost deemed a lost cause. I started him with fun fur, but I hate fun fur. It's a lot like crocheting in the dark. Then I ran out of fun fur with 2 legs and half a head left to go. I'm tempted to throw out the furry pieces since frogging (undoing) is virtually impossible with fun fur.
So I started over with just regular yarn. Somehow I messed up 2 legs and had to redo both. My husband suggested that the gods were against me on this one. So I frogged (undid) both legs while pondering suitable gifts for the crochet gods. What could you offer crochet gods? I didn't come up with any ideas, but after that the monkey came together with no problems. Except that his nostrils are crooked.
I've already had an offer to test the pattern, so it should be done sometime after we move. Now that this little guy is done, I really need to start packing. The move is this Saturday!

Crazy Kitten!
Due to my husband's allergies, this is as close as I will ever come to having a cat make a mess of my yarn. Not that I miss that, since I have two young kids to provide me with the joy of constantly rewinding my yarn.

Slinky Dog Needs a Name
I'm currently having the Slinky Dog pattern tested. The testing is almost done, which means soon the pattern will be available. I'm excited since this is the first pattern I've had tested! I've already sold one even! I'm hoping to have it available by Monday. First I have a few adjustments to make to the pattern and then I need to put it into a PDF file.
My only problem is that I'm terrible at naming things and I need 2 names now. I can't call him Slinky Dog, since Slinky is copyrighted. So I need a name for the poor pup. And I need a name for the etsy.com store where I will be selling him. Here are the suggestions so far:
For the Dog
Springer
Floppy
Curly
Springy
For the Store
Auntie Em's
Please, let me know if you have any other suggestions!
Once I get this one out, the Squirrel will be next! I've also had requests for other Slinky animals. Which is great -they are fun to do!

Slinky Dog
My son had surgery two weeks ago and we tried everything to get him to rest. It wasn't anything too serious (adenoids removed and ear tubes in), but I still wanted him to rest. I even tried bribery. One of our attempts was the movie Toy Story. It worked for a little bit. Shortly after watching Toy Story I found an older post on Crochetville.org that asked about slinkys and crocheting. Before I could help myself I was already thinking of all the animals you could make with a slinky. I asked my husband to bring me home a slinky from work, which he did without asking. If he knew it was for crocheting he might have protested. Instead he actually provided useful input on shapes and sizes. Thanks to his help, the slinky dog turned out pretty cute. Now he just needs a name and some friends....
